Role Purpose

An exciting opportunity has come about for DeFi Compliance & Risk Manager to join Celsius Network Compliance team which has plans to expand within Europe

The Role: Full time and initially Remote

The key responsibilities of this Global role will be to support Celsius’ Compliance program, managing our DeFi Compliance and Risk framework, and provide solution led expert advice and guidance for business. 

You will also be responsible for supporting the MLRO and Head of Transaction Monition with analytical and reporting activity for Celsius’ DeFi activities. 

This is an exciting and varied role working alongside our Compliance Team to ensure our business is protected. You MUST have had previous experience working within DeFi, either directly with DeFi platforms or with companies who have participated in DeFi Liquidity Pools.

What will you be doing?

  • Monitoring DeFi activities and ensure that they fall in line with Celsius’s Compliance and Risk framework
  • Ensuring internal guidelines are put  in place accurately adhering to regulations and industry rules 
  • Conducting Risk Assessments on DeFi Exchanges and Liquidity Pools
  • Overseeing the preparation of weekly and monthly compliance reports relating to DeFi for presentation to Risk Committee
  • Presenting to Chief Compliance Officer and MLRO regularly on compliance and risk issues relating to DeFi
  • Being responsible for policies and procedures on Compliance and Risk relating to DeFI, particularly the process of quarterly review - proposing improvements to manage risks
  • Participating in the further development of Celsius’ DeFi risk assessment framework.
  • To take ownership of the DeFi Risk Register
  • To investigate all breaches and near breaches of DeFi compliance processes, and report these to the Chief Compliance Officer and MLRO.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations on corrective actions or risk mitigation strategies
  • Support the Risk management framework
  • Internal Reporting – compilation, provision & support of the Global Compliance team
  • Maintain sound professional working relationships with other Compliance teams, business development, and management 
  • Produce accurate, timely and relevant MI for Global compliance

  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Manages and plans own work loads
  • Ability to translate research and analysis well into reasoned recommendations that informs effectively the decision-making process

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 months working for a DeFi platform, or 6 months within a firm providing Liquidity to DeFi platforms


  • Relevant business knowledge and experience of two regions, distribution channels or entities
  • Relevant qualification (ICA/ACAMS)
  • Actively makes recommendation and solutions upwards
  • Gives valuable insight by demonstration a deep understanding of the issues highlighted in the analysis and research
